Climate action between the headlines

Dear ClimateMind friends,

at the global level, climate action continues to struggle with coordination and consensus. Faced with overlapping crises, competing priorities, and complex trade-offs, decision-makers often fail to move from urgency to implementation. A recent example is the World Economic Forum in Davos, where climate policy – despite the acute urgency of the climate crisis and the fact that it is also a key driver of geopolitical tensions – played only a marginal role in the broader agenda.

But this is only part of the picture. Beyond global summits and political gridlock, real progress is happening – often quietly and without headlines. In companies, municipalities, and civil society, people are experimenting, learning, and pushing change forward under increasingly challenging conditions. Even as sustainability regulations are loosened and resistance grows, there is still room for action.

For those of us working in and with organizations or engaging directly with citizens, the challenge is clear: change now requires stronger communication, deeper psychological insight, and the ability to convince even without political tailwinds. This is exactly where ClimateMind comes in. We focus on the psychological foundations of climate action, supporting people and organizations to reduce resistance, build trust, and sustain motivation.

In this newsletter, you’ll find concrete examples of how we do this: from the spin-out of our non-profit organization to upcoming masterclasses, brand-new online courses, impact projects, and real client case studies. Progress may not dominate the headlines, but it is unfolding where people are equipped to act anyway.

Warmly, Janna Hoppmann

đź’Ş Spin-out of our non-profit company

Quietly and almost unnoticed, something important happened at the end of the year. Something that will fundamentally shape ClimateMind’s future. ClimateMind has officially spun out as a social enterprise (non-profit gGmbH), marking the next phase of a journey that started nearly five years ago. Currently, we are in the final formal stages of the spin-off.

A growing team, dozens of projects, and countless conversations across sectors – all driven by curiosity, energy, and a clear mission. Until now, this work was carried out within a flexible start-up structure. That worked well. But we’ve reached a point where structure matters.
AusgrĂĽndung gGmbH

With a clear systems-change approach â€“ integrating psychology into climate governance, diplomacy, finance, business, and leadership – this new legal form creates the foundation for what comes next. Looking ahead to 2026, we are preparing to work with long-term partners such as foundations, public funders, and impact investors who want to help scale our mission.
