Initial situation

Unfortunately, talking a lot about climate issues in consultations does not necessarily mean that what is said will bear fruit. That is why the employees of the Alliance for Development and Climate Foundation asked themselves: How can we conduct discussions about climate protection in such a way that our counterparts are motivated rather than put off?

ClimateMind's approach

ClimateMind is a highly needs-oriented training program based on a tailored preliminary survey of participants using questionnaires and interviews. It includes the following components:

  • Scientifically based content on motivational interviewing techniques with a focus on the climate context.
  • Practical training methodology in the form of exercises that build on each other with concrete application examples.
  • Reflection phases to reflect on and improve one's own conversation experiences.

  • Significantly increased communication skills: Participants are very aware of the dos and don'ts in conversations on climate issues.
